Who is EarFun?

EarFun’s wireless headphones originally were funded on Indiegogo before release to the general public. The company itself was founded in 2018 by a group of acoustic engineers, music enthusiasts, and industrial designers looking to create something that sounds good on a budget. Not everyone can afford $350+ headphones to listen to their favorite tunes. EarFun recognized this, and the Wave wireless headphones were born from this drive to find a happy medium. My EarFun Wave Over-Ear Wireless Headphones Review

Out of the box, the EarFun Wave headphones felt sturdy and secure in my hands. Many over-ear headphones in this price range are made of lesser materials. You can feel that in the touch. These don’t feel that way at all. When wearing them, they feel balanced and comfortable, especially the ear cups. While the ear cups don’t quite fit like you’d expect a pair of Bose or Beats would, the sound quality is still immersive.

The controls on the headphones are a bit small for my liking, but once you get used to them, that shouldn’t an issue.

As expected with any Bluetooth headphones, they hiccup every once in a while. While I had fewer issues with the Wave headphones, there were some issues when watching YouTube and Netflix here or there. When listening to music via Spotify, there were no real issues with stuttering or playback that I’ve had with other headphones.

Overall, the audio quality was great. Bass is deep with a good thump when cranking the volume up on some of my favorite tracks. It’s not the best bass ever, but it’s not the worse ever, for the price point it’s quality. Treble, by far, is the EarFun Wave’s best audio quality which was smooth and sleek.

Volume levels are a bit low for a set of headphones like this, but you can change this in Developer settings in Android or iOS. This is a common issue with any Bluetooth headphones you might use, some just compensate for it, and some don’t. Sound quality is clear despite volume levels.

The biggest perk of these headphones is the battery life, hands down. With up to 40 hours of playback and quick charging capabilities, you’ll always be able to listen to tunes, watch movies, or take calls no matter where you are. I was skeptical about the battery life out of the box but have been pleasantly surprised pushing the EarFun Wave headphones to their battery limit.

I do want to mention the carry case for the headphones. It’s high-quality and sturdy. You can toss this in a backpack, suitcase, or purse and not worry about scuffing your headphones on the go.

Conclusion: My Take on the EarFun Wave Over-Ear Wireless Headphones

The EarFun Wave Over-Ear Wireless headphones offer a comfortable wear, decent sound quality, and affordability. If you’re looking for budget headphones that don’t sound like budget headphones, consider the EarFun Wave headphones for your next audio purchase.
